Europaschule Heinrich-Böll-Gesamtschule
The school is a comprehensive school, combining the different school leaving certificates that are possible in Germany, the highest also connecting to university. About 1300 pupils, aged from 10 to 19, are taught by about 100 teachers here.
In September 2009 the school was granted the title of a ‘European School’. But we are having experience in international projects much longer: We’ve already taken part in and organized Comenius projects, e-mail projects,
e-twinning, European projects in the school. Besides, we’re offering our
pupils of the higher classes a work experience program and a language
course in Spain (A Coruña/ Salamanca); since 2003 we have been running
a student exchange with a school in Poland (Nysa), we organized an
exchange program on the basis of sports with two schools in the
Netherlands and Duisburg.
In 2003 a bilingual class was opened, concentrating on geographic
contents, English being the main language in these lessons.
